Chris set up Chris Brown Communications in 2001, following a six-year stint as Head of Public Affairs for the Energy Saving Trust. His LinkedIn profile lists him as a ‘self-employed consultant and interim manager with senior-level experience in stakeholder communications, government relations, policy development, media and CSR.’ That pretty much covers the breadth of what he offers, although the detail is tailored to meet clients’ diverse needs.
Chris’s current client base includes CIBSE Patrons, B&ES (formerly HVCA), and IHEEM (the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management). Recent projects encompass a range of environmentally focused assignments with work completed for the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies, Flakt Woods and Harvest Energy.
With over 25 years’ experience gained in-house with blue chip companies and a leading London PR consultancy, Chris has the skills to ensure a smooth and effective service, whether it’s within his role as public affairs consultant, stakeholder researcher or interim manager.
Chris serves as a board member of London Travelwatch, the travel watchdog for the capital. He has been a Non-Executive Director of the government-owned Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre, a Trustee of the Grantscape environmental charity and Trustee of a division of the Amicus Horizon social housing group. He’s also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the independent environmental think-tank Green Alliance.
Chris is passionate about rock music, long walks along the coast and cycling. He’s somewhat of a beer connoisseur and knows all the good pubs south of the Thames. Well, some of them! He’s also recently qualified as a Bikeability cycling instructor – but he keeps that separate from the beer outings!
